Vintage Decorative Casket Box or Tea Caddy by Maitland-Smith

Stunning Maitland-Smith lidded decorative box featuring beautiful faux-tortoiseshell crackle painted lacquer finish with hand-etched and carved gold Chinoiserie floral scrollwork along front, sides and lid. It sits on four solid, heavy brass ball feet and is topped with a cast brass leaf-motid finial handle. It still has the original factory inventory label numer 1144 004 on the bottom. That dates it to the 1990s or early 2000s. It is in excellent condition. )There are some faint surface scuffs on the bottom base, likely from shelf display.)
