Offered for sale is an Octagonal hand-cut and etched-shaped Venetian glass mirror frame with beveled glass glass ornamentation. It is designed with a triple layer mirror frame (three concentric inner octagonal sections) and a large crest with oval etched center with a floral bouquet. All are set in a wooden framework with a lacquered black edge and a wooden extension supporting crest . With visual inspection, the backing appears to be original. The octagonal shape and crested top along with the beveled mirror add to its desirability and value. Note that the “dog bone shaped” brackets on the exterior can be turned to either cover the seams or lay perpendicular to the seam. All brackets can be set in either position for uniformity.
These mirrors were traditionally crafted in Murano, Italy, a region known for its glassmaking expertise.
